Monday July 11th is NQTA's monthly Gathering time at 6 o'clock at OIC.
Please bring those delicious dishes.
Since the debut of fit station #2 Nate's Swing Station at OIC the concept and vision of the OIC/ Hosmer Woods Fit Trail has rocketed off!
The proposed footpath that eliminates the route 2A walk over is gpsed and awaiting private landowners approval and trail easement signing.
Out on the fit trail with Chris Pryor Director of Stewardship of NEFF (New England Forestry Foundation) and Billy, OIC fitness center leader, myself and Don Shambroom completed a walkabout and a crazy cool fit trail has emerged that will be designed for beginners up to Spartan extreme athletes.
Day 1 Clearing the new Command Center and Digital kiosk area
So we now have the, 'OIC Lucky 13 Fit Trail'. This will include a a station to station education on specific use and rating system using signage and QR technology.
Also a Command Center and Digital kiosk area that will allow for continuing uploading and education on historical, harvesting and forestry principles.
We have reached out to Mahar high school that has a summer grant for students 6 week work program.
Billy is organizing his Spartan Athletes to help with the building and creation of this fit trail.
We put the call out to the community with anyone that would like to help and experience on construction ,digital and signage development is needed or just willing to give a hand, much work needs to be done.
So come out to our Gathering on Monday and we will be unveiling the brand , brand new map of the
' OIC Luck 13 Fit Trail'
We will be going station by station and seek all input on their development.
Also as most of you know the ongoing Freedom Chair Fundraising has secured us one chair and deposit on a second With the current 120 Veterans Freedom Chair fundraising raffle will put us over the top and tickets will be available.
Also Nate will debuting his new Freedom Chair and we will have our new one available for test driving.
