The drawing is set for tomorrow afternoon and the Insurance company holding the drawing will notify the winners.
( Good Luck To All )
We will also be releasing a newspaper and social media notification of the winners.
Starting at our May 14th Red Apple Farm awareness to kick off this campaign this journey has been an amazing one of eduction, emotional outreach and generosity.
There will be a upcoming video and written story of these adventures.
But highlights are certainly the leadership, spiritual and physical growth by Nate Johnson and his family.
Please see the Google attachment on Nate's first ride on his own Freedom Chair that was provided to Nate from his uncle once he saw how this Freedom Chair was transforming Nates life.
For you that don't know Nate has ceberal palsy and he is taken himself into uncharted mobility territory.
So the money is raised for one Freedom chair for Andy Kingsley, a disabled Afghan war vet, and one Freedom Chair for the N Quabbin region and beyond free of charge based at our headquarters at OIC.
I have gone to rehab centers, physical therapist, Council of Aging and other locations demoing this chair and have been floored by the results with the operative phrase being 'Ease of Operation'
There is a video and protocol structure being composed and further info for usage to follow.
Working with Mia Hagistad of Chamber of Commerce this opens our N Quabbin region for a unique opportunity for visiting families to access our wonderful outdoors with family members otherwise unable to do in the past with lack of mobility.
We will be having a closing ceremony at Red Apple Farm to unveil the Freedom chairs and get Andy off and running.
Last of course this is just the beginning of this journey as working with Andy, Nate and Grit and hopefully many others NQTA will be looking to redefine what is a Challenge Mobility trail in a new # 1 to 4 Trail Rating System similar to ski trails using NQTA 's burgeoning trail systems as active laboratories.
What an emotional and spiritual experience this has been for me and Amy.
As a veteran myself to see my developing friend Andy Kingsley get this new opportunity to get himself back to outdoors and the amazing growth of Nate this last couple of months on this Freedom Chair journey has made this my own most personal joyful accomplishment since NQTA started.
Thanks doesn't begin to explain my thoughts for all of your help as absolutely nothing gets accomplished without this community outreach and generosity
Truly Upward and Onward !
Donate toward the Community Chair
$2,135 out of $3,000 Raised
Each chair costs $3,000 to purchase. This fundraiser is in hopes to raise AT LEAST enough money for these 2 chairs for Nate & Andy, BUT this fundraiser will be an open ending fundraiser so that IF we can raise more then the total cost of $6,000 ($3,000 each chair) then we want to have more chairs, hopefully at least 2, available at all times at OIC (Orange Innovation Center) 131 West Main St, Orange for others to go and sign out a chair for the day and be able to enjoy these chairs and our trails!!!
Please help us achieve this goal so we can give back to our veterans and they can get out and enjoy our beautiful trails.
Any donation is helpful and don't forget to SHARE SHARE SHARE this fundraiser, the more people who share, the more people who know and can donate / share, it ALL helps!!!
