A Western Gathering / Cancellation
Hello All Forest Peeps,
We had the Western Caretakers of the M+M trail now the New England Snenic Trail as our Education Speakers at NQTA's Gathering this Monday February 13th.
Highlighting all their hard work and dedication to our beautiful trail system.
However with the current storm just passing through and substantial snow and bad conditions forecast for Sunday and Monday this monthly Gathering is cancelled.
Also it was NQTA' s annual board of directors, if anyone is interested in being on NQTA board please Joann Deacon at email@example.com or Marilyn Elwood at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Get out and get some fun snow playtime in and enjoy New England at its winter best.
The Town of Athol Open Space and Recreation Committee is in full swing working to update the town’s Open Space and Recreation Plan. The plan will help determine what the town does in the next 7 years to improve our parks, beaches, playgrounds, ball fields, and natural areas available for wildlife watching, hiking, fishing, and more.
With an updated Open Space and Recreation Plan, the town will be eligible to apply for grants to help preserve the rural character of Athol and address the community's desire for recreation areas.
The committee needs your help. It has put together a public survey to gather the communities opinions to make sure the committee works on issues most important to the town. The best way to complete the survey is online at:
There will also be printed copies available at the Athol Public Library and the Athol Town Hall.
