Tomorrow, Nancy and Keith will be leading the hike at Mt. Wachusett .The trailhead will be the upper lot at the ski area. It is a moderate hike a bit over 3 miles.
As always we will meet at the Y at 9:00.

Tomorrow we will be finishing clearing the beautiful Muddy Pond trail
9 o'clock at 141 Bragg Hill Rd
Park on the road you will see the other vehicles
This is the private landowner project that we where working on last fall in conjuction with Mount Grace, MassLIFT Americorp and private landowner Larry Engman
This trail graciously offered by Larry is a beautiful access trail that leads to the Midstate trail along Muddy Pond
We will be creating a trail through mountain laurel , rhododendron and along cranberry bogs
We will be doing trail general clearing and gloves and a good lopper is all that's needed
The weather calls for a sunny , cool day perfect for this work
So if you haven't joined us in awhile step back in as Mount Grace and MassLIFT Americorp will be there to join us

Tomorrow, we will be hiking Bearsden. It will be a moderate 3-4 miles. The weather may be a bit iffy. Unless heavy storms, lets go. We will be checking out the fire damage in the area. Sorry, I could not quite hear where the trailhead is. Welcome to my world!! I will get back to you as soon as I hear from Bobby.
As always, we will meet at the Y at 9 and plan for lunch somewhere.
Tomorrow Wednesday May 13th NQTA begins in direct collaboration with principal Kelley and building superintendent Larry of the Swift River School in New Salem
NQTA will start the clearing and rebuilding of the Swift River School outdoor nature trail in New Salem
After this initial stewardship work and working alongside and the children and Larry NQTA will be building a 8 station fitness trail
After a walkabout today much information was gathered and with great input and vision from NQTA member Paula a moving , flowing , swinging concept of uniquely built fitness equipment connecting from station to station
Don , myself, Paula , Patsy and Larry will be the beginning members of the Vision team to kick this into gear
NQTA member Patsy great idea again working with the children is as we clear the trail to replant some of the laurel and blueberry bushes into boxes
We will work this summer long project into the Wednesday Trailblazer stewardship rotation
A heads up next Wednesday is the completion of the stunning Muddy Pond private landowner trail that we were building last Fall working with Mount Grace
I'm meeting with the Athol Con Com.shortly to get the okay for the bridge crossing at Buckman brook crossing were it deposits into Millers
Local bridge builder Phil Moulton will be leading us and invaluable experience will be gleamed
So all are welcome to join us tomorrow and for the Wednesday Trailblazer season
We will be meeting up at Swift river school at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning
This school is located on Wendell Rd just past New Salem General store on 202 in New Salem
Go down a couple of miles and school is on the left

Hello Stewardship crew
Well we are underway for a fresh and exciting stewardship season
We have some very cool projects getting lined up
Bridges being built and a new collaborations with Swift Valley elementary school
We will be kicking off with a 2 prong attack
Invasive species / Tick awareness and preventive program
Tomorrow morning let's meet up in S Royalston at Pete and Henry's parking lot
Because of the 10 year trail easement signed by S Royalston Improvement Corp we can immediately start a Japanese Knotweed eradication program along the banks of the Millers river
This invasive is taking over our river banks and NQTA looks to take a leading position on this
Our very own Merilyn is taking the lead on this and I thank Merilyn for her dedication to this important environmental issue
We are collaberating with Americorp, Mount Grace and our new friends Kieth Newton and the Royalston DPW
So please meet up with us at
9 o'clock at Pete and Henry's parking lot in S Royalston
This will be an exploratory and planning day
So good gloves and a good attitude is all that's needed

Tomorrow we are doing a bit longer hike. It is an easy -moderate 7 1/2 miles from the main parking lot at Red Apple Farm to the Peter and Henry's parking lot. Be sure to bring extra H2O and snacks and don't forget the bug juice. We should be no later than 3:00.
