I would like to introduce myself at the Director of Outdoor Access. We are happy to collaborate with you for our first hike of the 2016 season. To share a bit, we are sponsored by DCR Universal Access Program to run year-round winter sports, kayaking and hiking programs for folks with disabilities. Together, we make it happen... with adaptive equipment and team-work, we create boundless opportunities!!
"The plan for Tuesday'-- Meeting at the Y at 9 am and Wendell Forest at 9:30 and go for our Ruggles Pond hike (beautiful right now!) and Brenda Kennedy of Outdoor Access will be there at 11:30 with Nate Johnson and we can have lunch and get to see their program out a a comfortable pavilion.

The Outdoor Access team will be supporting Nate, (whom some of you may know) in using our new Freedom Chair (off-road wheelchair) http://www.gogrit.us/ to access the pavilion. Then we'll transfer to a Terratrek wheelchairhttp://www.motionconcepts.com/terratrek.html
to travel clock-wise around the pond, to the beaver den overlook.
Tuesday Trekkers and Bobby are welcome to assist the Nate's team or hike completely around the pond.

Tomorrow, we will be hiking the Swift River/Hawk Ledge Trail in Petersham. It is a moderate 3 1/2 miles with 1 good upward climb.
We will meet at the Petersham Country Store at 9:15 or the Y at 9.
Plan on lunch at the Country Store.

Tomorrow, we will be hiking the Four Point Destination/Thousand Acre Cascades Trail. It is a moderate 3-4 mile hike along the river. The trailhead is at Pete and Henry's in South Royalston. As always, we will meet at the Y at 9. Plan on lunch at the country store.

This is getting crazy, all the rainy Tuesdays. We will be hiking tomorrow at Red Apple Farm no matter what. It will be a moderate 4 on the Oak Regeneration / Water Loop Trail. It may rain but we won't melt.
